Resuscitation Program ART/BART

The UCSD Center for Resuscitation Science

We are pleased to announce that the UCSD Center for Resuscitation Science (CRS) classes for ART/BART are now available for registration on the Learning Exchange.  There are various class types that will be selected based on your job title and work unit.

Who:               RNs, LVNs, MDs, Pharmacy New Residents, RTs, Unlicensed Assistive Personnel

Where:            UCSD Learning Exchange:  http://mycourses.ucsd.edu/

When:             Classes start on August 24, 2009

  1. Mandatory enforcement, including all resuscitation renewals per UCSD requirements,       effective January 1, 2010
  2. New Hires will have 6mos to complete UCSD requirements for job title and work unit.
  3. Paid time outlined for completing UCSD requirements for job title and work unit.

Why:

Hospital resuscitation is different than pre-hospital resuscitation, with most arrests representing the final consequence of hypoxemia and hypotension.

This requires a different approach to resuscitation and affords the opportunity to intervene during the pre-arrest period.  There has been dramatic increase in outcomes studies guiding therapeutic interventions. Continuous quality improvement efforts and performance evaluations should be closely integrated with resuscitation training for optimal patient safety, care, and outcomes.

UCSD Improved Resuscitation Program

  • ART - Advanced Resuscitation Training
